FAQ

Q) Why do I need a luggage scale?
A) Most airlines have strict limitations on the amount of luggage that you can carry and check-in. The luggage scale helps you quickly weigh your bags and avoid paying hefty excess luggage charges. Some scales can also be used to weigh parcels, products in the kitchen, fish, etc.

Q) What is the maximum weight that I can weigh with my scale?

A) Refer to your scale’s manual since this varies from model to model; 40kg seems to be the norm, but there are scales with bigger capacity as well.

Q) Are luggage scales easy to use?

A) Using a luggage scale is pretty straightforward: most digital scales hold the weight and you can put down the bag as soon as you hear them beep – this eliminates the need to hold heavy bags while trying to read the digital display. Some models, obviously, are easier to use then others and have larger handles, buckle straps for security, and large displays as well.

Q) Can the weight be displayed in different units?
A) Some models are capable of displaying the weight in kilograms, pounds, and ounces, while others work with only one or two measuring units.

Q) Do I need to buy batteries for my luggage scale?
A) Some models do not need batteries at all, while others come with batteries in the box.

Q) How long will the battery last?

A) The batteries usually last for a long time, especially if your scale shuts off automatically when not in use.

Q) Are luggage scales accurate?
A) This, again, depends on the model, but most of them work with accuracy of 100-200g.

Q) Will the luggage scale come with tape measure as well?

A) Only some models have built-in tape measure, which tape measure allows you to make sure that your bag’s dimensions are within the limits.

Q) How much should I pay for a luggage scale?

A) The most affordable models cost less than ten pounds, but even the high quality scales rarely cost more than thirty pounds.
